Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish

Since we started Blundering Fools in January 2008, we’ve been all over the place with our posts. Foolish Cat thinks so, anyway. And since he has written most of the posts, well, I have to take his word for it.

Here’s the thing. We are not here to be mean spirited, spiteful people. And while yes, some times when we are feeling particularly testy, we may poke fun at people, the true spirit of Blundering Fools is to encourage folks to live passionately despite the blunders they may make along the way.

Foolish Cat and I think we’re not really getting that message across. And I think it’s because we are still new to blogging, so to speak.

We started Blundering Fools because well, we are a couple of fools ourselves. We’re dream chasers, if you will. And in chasing our dreams we’ve blundered quite a bit. We’ve had some good times and well, not so good times. But we took risks. Lots of them. And we will continue to do so because we feel that if you are not taking risks, then you are not living! So many people sit around wishing they could start a business, write a book, join the Peace Corps, travel the world but instead of doing these things, they continue to sit around daydreaming and wishing they could win the lottery. Snap out of it. Life is what you make it. Despite the obstacles you may encounter or blunders you may make, get out there and start living, really living. As Morgan Freeman said in the movie, The Shawshank Redemption, “Get busy living or get busy dying.”

We want Blundering Fools to be a resource in helping you go after your dreams. In doing so, we will provide interviews with folks who dared to walk the road less traveled. Our first interview is with Ed Sanchez, co-director of the Blair Witch Project. Check it out in the Interviews section.

Foolish Cat stumbled upon this article and we just had to share it:

“Drawing from some of the most pivotal points in his life, Steve Jobs, chief executive officer and co-founder of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, urged graduates to pursue their dreams and see the opportunities in life’s setbacks—including death itself—at the university’s 114th Commencement on Sunday in Stanford Stadium.”
